Once again, The Washington Post has published the winning submissions to
its yearly contest, in which readers are asked to supply alternate
meanings for common words.
The winners are:
1. Coffee (n.) the person upon whom one coughs.
2. Flabbergasted (adj.) appalled over how much weight you have gained.
3. Abdicate (v.) to give up all hope of ever having a flat stomach.
4. Esplanade (v.) to attempt an explanation while drunk.
Quick question:
If you had the choice to be full forever and never eat food again, would you?
Be sure to take everything into account: the money you’d save, the bad food you wouldn’t have to have, not being able to taste any more food, the lack of excess body fat, and the awkwardness of dinner dates.
“I think I’ll have the pecan-crusted halibut. What are you going to eat, dear?”
“I don’t.”
“You don’t what?”
“Eat.”
You’d probably be going to the movies a lot more often.

Although everyone is making a huge deal of the big scare of E-Coli in spinach spreading around and killing people, I never thought it would actually happen to someone!!
