Velvet Ant. Aka Cow Killer aka crazy killer waspy thing under cover!

Has anyone ever seen one of these before?? It’s called a Velvet Ant, but it’s actually a type of wasp. I was running in the forest near our house a few weekends ago and I saw this “ant” crawling across some leaves and I was shocked. I’d never ever seen an ant so big and colored and with a stinger so huge!!

I came home and described it to my Dad and he told me what it was.

Pretty cool, huh? Ever seen one before??

Supersize Me!

…Nah nah nah nah nahhhhh I’m Lovin’ It.

Crikey, mate!

It’s been a while, hasn’t it fellow Bloon Readers. All 10 of you must miss me greatly :). Sadly, I don’t come with a joke. I have sad, sad knews.

So probably everyone has heard, but the amazing Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin was killed a few days ago on an adventure during a filming expedition on the Great Barrier Reef. Steve was swimming underwater and he swam over a stingray and he got stung by its barb on his chest.

I’m so depressed man. I loved that guy. I thought he was the Superman of Crocodiles/Deadly Animals. I thought he was invincible. Apparently the stingray was his kryptonite. :(

He died while getting taped so they have his last moments on video, even when he got stung. This is really morbid of me, but I kind of want to see that video. Haha.

You can find out more about what happened/about what they’re going to do for his Memorial Service etc; here.

Metal Wolf Chaos

Wow…

A real wartime president.

Help me.

OK, long story short, Gentoo’s out for a while. I’m having some serious issues with udev and booting, and I don’t see myself going through the trouble of fixing them. That means…

I’m looking for another distro/OS. I’m probably going to stick with Linux, and I don’t really feel like messing with *BSD.

Don’t want to use Suse, RH/Fedora, Mandriavevaievieanix, or any of the other really big corporate ones.

I’m thinking of going with a Debian derivative. The name Ubuntu keeps popping up in my mind, but I would like to avoid it. It does look very nice and shiny though…

If anybody has any suggestions at all, I would love to hear them.

…Thank you?
